1981 BMW EURO (Alpina Clone) 635CSi
I have a rare Euro import BMW 635csi with Alpina upgrades (not a factory
built Alpina). It has 16" staggered Alpina wheels, Recaro seats,
lowered on Koni suspension, Getrag 265 5 speed manual transmission, and
sunroof. This car has the Euro bumpers front and rear which gives it a
much better look than the regular American version. Based off the built
date of this vehicle this is a Motronic M90 engine. These are much
better than the M30 motors as used on the American BMW's. The M90 has
the same bore and stroke as the BMW M1, but it lacks the dual overhead
cam head. Engine makes 218 hp stock, and it was BMW most powerful motor
(not counting the M1) at the time. It is very hard to come by these
motors. The M90 motors are the same block as the M88 engine found in
the M5 and M6.
I originally bought this car with intent on using it for my 1971 BMW E9 2800cs (same body as the more popular 3.0cs, 3.0csi, and 3.0csl). I bought her non running, and planned on restoring the E9 and building up this motor to go inside the E9. I haven't done anything yet and it will be a while before I'd be able to restore the E9. So I'm offering them both for sale. I'd prefer to sell them both together as these two cars would complete the ultimate E9 conversion with the 218hp 3.5l motor, 5 speed manual, and 16" Alpina's.
I do not have to sell these cars, and am in no rush to let them go. I've included pictures of both my 635csi and the 2800cs that I'm offering for sale. Price is $14k total for both cars. Please call, email or text for more details...312-eight-zero-four-3839
